This was a gripping story with amazing weapons (seriously these devices would be sooo cool if they existed…). Each of the three heroines have their own skills and personality, which results in very different ways of dealing with obstacles. Over all it was well written and enjoyable, but the story line that has a certain Mr. Harris in it is feels a little rough at the end. Also I found the ending to be a little abrupt.

I’m reading Super Boys by Brad Ricca at the moment but it’s slow going and I thought (since this book requires a review asap) that I’d switch between that (a biography of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster) and this (a paranormal with angels).

Someone come over and hang out with me and let’s watch this and Tales Of The Gold Monkey all day instead of doing whatever stupid shit we normally do.

THE SATURDAYS - GENTLEMAN
sometimes british pop music can get it really wrong, other times it gets it really right. it is often at its best when it walks the line between the two. the saturdays as a longtime uk girlband have tended to deliver two types of singles: 1) occasionally amazing, usually generic, dance-pop uptempos and 2) rarely amazing ballads. with this new single, the saturdays have forayed into new territory, with (frankly ridiculous) tongue-in-cheek lyrics reminiscent of, say, the spice girls. most importantly what we’ve got here is an unabashed pop sound - an earworm chorus, a talky bit where the girls name-check stereotypically handsome famous chaps. then there’s the video which has just been released: it looks insanely tacky, there’s green screen everywhere, and it’s like desperate housewives but with lots of cross-dressing. and i mean all of these things as a compliment. unlike most of their singles, ‘gentleman’ doesn’t seem safe and expected - it’s a risky pop single that with the right luck really ought to solidify the success that the saturdays are experiencing at the moment, what with having finally scored their first number one.
